The Marine Laboratory: “public hands-on seaside education”
The laboratory has a lodging facility, and hands-on educational activities in the field of seaside studies are carried out here for multiple departments of Kanazawa University. In addition, the hands-on seaside education of neighboring universities is also carried out here. Various facilities are available supporting hands-on education from the molecular level to the field in relation to seaside research.
The Botanical Garden: “A natural mountain village school in Kakuma”
The Kakuma hilly area adjoins the urban district, and is well known to the residents as a familiar mountain village from ancient times. Not only do we utilize this abundant natural environment as an educational research field for science, but we also consider this "natural mountain village school in Kakuma" as a field for studying the learning activities of the residents. Moreover, various learning program which utilize this approach have been developed and are offered.
The Low Level Radioactivity Laboratory
This laboratory is situated on a hill in Tatsunokuchi Town, located in Ishikawa Prefecture. In this laboratory, the hand-on training of Kanazawa University students and collaborative research activities with other universities and research institutes are carried out using the extremely low background radioactivity measurement system constructed in the former Ogoya Mine.
